I ordered this TV on a Saturday and received by delivery truck Wednesday. The installation was painless (which is quite heavy, though). I was pleasantly surprised that enables connectivity to the Internet (although it was not something I was looking for, the concept has grown on me), but not surprised to learn that without the dongle Wireless (Panasonic CY-WL10 wireless LAN adapter for select Panasonic HDTVs and Blu-Ray Viera) is another $ 99. However, I'm going to lay a cable LAN. [I, see below. See also the comments of a wireless alternative.] I am using the three HDMI inputs for my Verizon FiOS set top box, Apple TV 2 and XVBP11 JVC Blue-ray. A set of RCA audio / video is in charge of my Pioneer laser disc player. (. Yes, I'm old school) you will not use the SD card slot for anything other than firmware upgrades, but I like to have the USB ports so we can see our movies Full HD glory pull - once learn to do what it is.
I was very happy with my LCD TV up to half of the day, maybe that's why I never realized how much our living room is bright. For the first time I tried to watch the TV from the sofa, a reflection of the skylight was terrible. At midday glare was almost unbearable.
In the late afternoon / full dark, this TV looks fantastic. It's so good, in fact, that I could not tear myself away from 2 Fast 2 Furious, which says a lot. The problem is that I do most of the watches during the day, so I'm not sure it will work for me in the long run. I have to give a couple of days. Preset modes are not perfect, but they are pretty accurate right out of the box. Both Netflix and iTunes movie streaming on Apple TV looks good. When I have some 'time I drive Video Essentials to get to the level selected
The speakers are adequate at low volume and separate bass and treble adjustments, but at normal volumes, rustles of low frequencies in the cabinet. It was particularly bad, while I sat and watched the beginning, but my wife also noticed during "Top Chef". I know that I finally upgrade my 15-year-old Sony receiver (it only has RCA inputs, and the TV only has digital audio output), but it's a bit annoying that I have to just to watch TV without annoying rattles. If the sound quality is better, I'd be happy to give this television a total of 5 stars. In addition, I have to turn up the volume when my Blu-ray (if it was about the image that I would.) - A problem I have with my 32 "TV I suspect.'s Audio player level output is less than the DVR and Apple TV. NOTE: After the first few days to see, rattles disappeared.
So cable DVR box and the BD player to the receiver, so I have a great sound when I want (unless you use the bike).
A feature I never use is called CATS, which adjusts the brightness of the TV depending on the brightness of the room. Apparently it is set to Standard picture mode, which I discovered by accident. After exploring the options, I found it and it turned off. I want my TV to stay in uniform brightness regardless of ambient lighting. (I bet that's why the situation was so bad at noon. We'll see.)
So all things considered, I am satisfied with my purchase? Yes. The detail and clarity blow my mind. I will try with a little Blu-ray in the coming weeks and see how it behaves during the day, but I think we have a winner. Welcome to the family.
Update 19/03/11: I met a 50-foot Ethernet cable (50 ft CAT 5e 350 MHz BlueCables Ethernet LAN cable) from my router to Verizon FiOS TV. He was not able to connect automatically after several failed attempts and frustration that made me consider buying the bag, to manually enter the network settings for the TV (the trick was to find and assign an unused IP address) and bingo. Bonus: updating the firmware on the network. I could go to the Apple 32 "TV in the room, but the choices are limited Viera Cast is essential Netflix and Amazon VOD is nice to have, but I really want Hulu'm still very happy with the TV, ..
