LG Infinia 47LW5600 47-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV

After 24 hours, we are very pleased with this set.

The superb image quality A.. It was good to the table, and I just finished the calibration of Disney, and is even better now. The lighting is even from edge to edge and corner to corner, the edges are sharp, with no jagged edges.

B. Very good sound. We went with CFL backlight instead of the LED / LCD sets because the CFL tend to have a little more space for built-in speakers, so directional sound. This set has good internal speakers and sounds fantastic.

Whole plasma / LCD universe is short-term technology and will be replaced with much better technology, long before they share in the TV starts to wear out, so we set a realistic price and got a much better prepared than we had hoped.

It was a little more difficult to gather the necessary support to all, but it was not difficult, but not obvious. The manual is about 20 models, and illustrations are not as easy to make. However, in just a few scratches on the head to understand.

Like many a nerd I am, it is surprising that this is the first big screen HDTV we have. The 30 + year old CRT work well, but when the digital local channels have also gone hi-definition. I was tired of seeing half of the center of the show and to bite the bullet.

There are occasional users, and I take one exception to the advice I received while shopping: do not go, "How much TV you need a 'graphic or advice. I went from" How long do I have to replace the CRT monitor? "Method and size, as well as close as possible. And 'even bigger than we really need, but I'm not on the market

This LG 42LK520 replace my beloved Toshiba CRT TV (which, to my dismay, refused to age or provide any indication it was ready to leave and to justify my purchase) so I can not require large sophisticated when it comes to compare modern flat screen TV.

That said, I could not be happier with the LG. The image is sharp and true. Saturation setting is perhaps a bit brighter than life - I'm sure can be handled easily, but I like to see the world through bright green grass and blue sky incredibly, so I n 't have bothered. The TruMotion works well and so far I have not seen or image blur afterwards. The sound quality is good but not great, but it means little to me when I run through my home theater system that is very old the whole experience quite wonderful. I even like the subtle light that shines in the lower right corner to change from red to blue when you turn on your TV - nothing to do with the performance of television, but it's just cool and makes the TV look expensive. I love this TV violently, and sometimes turn on just to see how the image is beautiful.

For about $ 650 with free shipping, how could I not be happy? Delivery was amazingly fast. Installation was relatively easy, although the installation manual is simple enough to be relatively useless. Incidentally, if you connect your satellite receiver, press "enter" on the remote control and selecting "HDMI" - the manual does not tell you.

None of the minor weaknesses (like the sound - not bad, just not hit me) is signficant enough to fall outside the scope of five stars. At that price, this TV offers incredible value. I really could not be happier with this purchase.

LG LCD HDTV 42LK450 42-Inch 1080p 60 Hz

I must preface my review by saying that I do not buy online LG 450, I bought a big box store because they had a better price:
LG 42LD450 42-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV
I wanted low-cost TV in the bedroom and the LG 450 is a good choice, picture quality is very good that it's price. I do not need 120Hz so I saved $ 150 by purchasing the 60Hz model. All LG TV Expert settings are in the ISF, so you can have it professionally calibrated, or do it yourself, it is also equipped with a blue filter. ATSC tuner is very strong, because I get all local stations OTA with internal antenna. This model does not have an Internet enabled so you'll need to get the Netflix set-top boxes, etc. A word of caution, though: when I got home and calibrated the picture still does not look good, it takes about 12 hours watching the display to "break". After watching TV for a few days now, the picture is greatly improved. As with all of the TV sound is not great, but not the bass and treble controls. USB support: JPEG, MP3, MPG, WMV, MP4. Manual states other video formats are supported, but do not work in my TV.

I've been watching HD movies on TV and LCD monitor on my computer in recent years, because I swear I spend more than $ 500 CRT, but now I finally found something, I'd be happy for $ 499. This LG is very simple, no frills TV, but that's all that I need a TV. The features are very basic level, and contrast information can give a sense, a picture is phenomenal, but in reality is only average in this price range, that is to say that it is perfectly adequate. This is essentially what you'd expect from IPS panel. You can move around the room, and the image is completely visible, where you sit. The backlight is not too low, and not flashy.

One of the first things you notice is the power "button" is not a button, but a touch area that requires no effort on. That's because TV is so light than conventional pressing a button on the TV is likely to move a little. TV takes a few seconds before you see a photo, but it's tolerable. Changing channels is almost as fast as other TVs of the past, but certainly slower than a computer with a USB tuner. No problem for me because I'm not going to zap your TV.

It's good that the device provides a calibration wizard, but I did not like how the contrast adjustment of images darker recommended lose details. I ended up turning the contrast almost all the way up. There really is not much to say about the picture quality. It is quite decent, and I have not found significant errors. So far, I mostly he used to play Lego Batman and there is no image shift, I've read on other TVs. One thing I noticed is that with the computer to the HDMI connection function, the default overscan, so you must adjust your video settings to reduce image size to fit entirely within the TV screen. When you make the image looks good. There is also a VGA port, but it does not support full HD resolution.

There are two menu systems, standby and an extensive menu, which will give you all the controls you would ever need. And 'only the LG as I always have to dig deep into the menu system to do something so simple to delete unwanted channels. It still requires a minimum of three to press, however. It would be nice if they had a button on the remote control.

How many TV sets in this price range, gives only an optical audio output, which is ironic, because most of the buyers of televisions, stereo systems that are economical with optical Fortunately, there is at least the headphone port, that can be used to connect to your computer speakers or a stereo receiver. This is important because the performance of built-in speakers are not in proportion to the size of the screen. 42 "This is the appropriate size of small home theater speakers are not yet able to offer this experience -. Okay I did not expect it and I have external speakers to conquer.

Even if you skimp on the audio, video inputs are well. It is a component and composite inputs and three HDMI ports. And there are the traditional USB port instead of a memory card reader closer. I had a couple of videos via USB and has to do with the job without problems. I was very pleased that keeps track of where the video was stopped the last time you looked. It 'a bit' so that makes this TV stand out from the lower end.

I did a lot of stores to find something with a good image that will not break the bank. Many new TVs sold today are much more expensive and have many features in Buzzword that this unit does not have. This unit is essentially an entirely new television set with the features of last year. I'm fine with that until I see a bigger screen for the money.

Panasonic VIERA TC-P42S30 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

I'm fanatics owner of the Panasonic TC-L32X2 32-inch 720p LCD HDTV iPod dock included, so when it came the time to change to 42" of living (and to move 32" to bedroom to replace 27 "TV tube) I am mostly just looking for Panasonic. I had to keep the previous version of this unit (TC-P42S2), because it was highly rated on Amazon, and a little 'less expensive, but I decided to take the risk of a next model. - even if it is so new that no votes or opinions (Since 3/27/11, but this unit is cheaper.)

I ordered this TV on a Saturday and received by delivery truck Wednesday. The installation was painless (which is quite heavy, though). I was pleasantly surprised that enables connectivity to the Internet (although it was not something I was looking for, the concept has grown on me), but not surprised to learn that without the dongle Wireless (Panasonic CY-WL10 wireless LAN adapter for select Panasonic HDTVs and Blu-Ray Viera) is another $ 99. However, I'm going to lay a cable LAN. [I, see below. See also the comments of a wireless alternative.] I am using the three HDMI inputs for my Verizon FiOS set top box, Apple TV 2 and XVBP11 JVC Blue-ray. A set of RCA audio / video is in charge of my Pioneer laser disc player. (. Yes, I'm old school) you will not use the SD card slot for anything other than firmware upgrades, but I like to have the USB ports so we can see our movies Full HD glory pull - once learn to do what it is.
Panasonic VIERA TC-P42S30 42-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV
I was very happy with my LCD TV up to half of the day, maybe that's why I never realized how much our living room is bright. For the first time I tried to watch the TV from the sofa, a reflection of the skylight was terrible. At midday glare was almost unbearable.

In the late afternoon / full dark, this TV looks fantastic. It's so good, in fact, that I could not tear myself away from 2 Fast 2 Furious, which says a lot. The problem is that I do most of the watches during the day, so I'm not sure it will work for me in the long run. I have to give a couple of days. Preset modes are not perfect, but they are pretty accurate right out of the box. Both Netflix and iTunes movie streaming on Apple TV looks good. When I have some 'time I drive Video Essentials to get to the level selected

The speakers are adequate at low volume and separate bass and treble adjustments, but at normal volumes, rustles of low frequencies in the cabinet. It was particularly bad, while I sat and watched the beginning, but my wife also noticed during "Top Chef". I know that I finally upgrade my 15-year-old Sony receiver (it only has RCA inputs, and the TV only has digital audio output), but it's a bit annoying that I have to just to watch TV without annoying rattles. If the sound quality is better, I'd be happy to give this television a total of 5 stars. In addition, I have to turn up the volume when my Blu-ray (if it was about the image that I would.) - A problem I have with my 32 "TV I suspect.'s Audio player level output is less than the DVR and Apple TV. NOTE: After the first few days to see, rattles disappeared.

So cable DVR box and the BD player to the receiver, so I have a great sound when I want (unless you use the bike).

A feature I never use is called CATS, which adjusts the brightness of the TV depending on the brightness of the room. Apparently it is set to Standard picture mode, which I discovered by accident. After exploring the options, I found it and it turned off. I want my TV to stay in uniform brightness regardless of ambient lighting. (I bet that's why the situation was so bad at noon. We'll see.)

So all things considered, I am satisfied with my purchase? Yes. The detail and clarity blow my mind. I will try with a little Blu-ray in the coming weeks and see how it behaves during the day, but I think we have a winner. Welcome to the family.

Update 19/03/11: I met a 50-foot Ethernet cable (50 ft CAT 5e 350 MHz BlueCables Ethernet LAN cable) from my router to Verizon FiOS TV. He was not able to connect automatically after several failed attempts and frustration that made me consider buying the bag, to manually enter the network settings for the TV (the trick was to find and assign an unused IP address) and bingo. Bonus: updating the firmware on the network. I could go to the Apple 32 "TV in the room, but the choices are limited Viera Cast is essential Netflix and Amazon VOD is nice to have, but I really want Hulu'm still very happy with the TV, .. My only complaint is the smaller amount of heat it emits. (I understand this better. I hope.)

Samsung PN42B450 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV

Before buying this plasma I need more than 6 months to reviews, research then shopping for $ 649. Do not be fooled by the 1080p. The eye can not tell the difference unless you're in 5.5FT. Plasma TVs have a refresh rate faster than LCD (liquid crystal is 120Hz), HR 100 000 lives, no problem burns, and most have a better TV is a winner contrast. This I ' I compared with Samsung TOC (touch of color) in series. The image of a Blue-ray is almost identical! This TV has many many options that you can really adjust the color, contrast, etc. Although you probably will not need them because it looks a lot like out of the box. The sound is great too, some critics say otherwise, but it sounds really good. You can save money n? T Believe the Hype and the bull about 1080p 120Hz LCD. You can get the same great image at a fraction of the price.
Samsung PN42A400 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV
They are mainly predecessor to this model, 4254, and was very pleased. Now, this is the same model sold at bargain prices, and it is worth it. 720P does not matter in this screen size, the time and I like the image of the plasma, and my depth of over LCD. I just wanted to add that I would recommend that the buyer will pay a little 'more - probably only $ 50 or less - and get a little' better than this one 400 42A450 (42A410 or Wa - Mart and others). I think a couple of dollars more worth it, and may consist of (by far), buying an HDMI cable online and save.

The difference between the two models is small, but in the future issue. The main difference is that this model has 2 HDMI ports instead of 3450. This third party will have to make the most of existing sources, even, let alone the future. The cable must be connected to HDMI, as well as an upconverting DVD or Blu-Ray. (This, incidentally, is superb on this TV, even "just" 720.) Do not leave the connections on the 400 everything you use HDMI, and any other new source will surely use. Why settle with RCA or coaxial, all that degrades the image, when you add a bit of money HDMI? Even my old 4254 has three of them.

Some sources report that this model is not dynamic contrast ratio of 15000:1 when the 450A is 20,000 Other sources say they are both 20k. Whatever, if there is a slight improvement, then there should also be those dollars. Or is it better than most LCDs. (I'm not interested in the dynamic contrast ratio, because if we leave, the setting is an eye-strain.)

Then take a look at the current price of 450A before buying this, but if that is what is available, or you need the cheapest, they are sure to love even the 400A and 410A, that many shops put a teaser for the sale .

Finally, both are great, even outside. Great furniture for your room. The twist adds to the clean lines.
